Indian e Visa Options
The Indian e Visa offers several options for travelers, each with its own set of rules and requirements:
- Business Indian e Visa: This visa is valid for multiple entries and stays up to 180 days per entry. It is valid for one year from the date of issue and can be applied for online without needing to send the physical passport. However, an invitation letter from the inviting company is now required.
- Medical Indian e Visa: This visa is valid for triple entries and stays up to 180 days per entry. It is valid for 60 days from the date of issue.
- Conference Indian e Visa: This visa is valid for a single entry and stays up to 30 days. It can only be applied for if attending a government-sponsored conference.
Application and Validity
The Indian e Visa can be issued in as little as 2-6 business days and is a cost-effective option. The application must be submitted no later than 4 days prior to departure for India and no earlier than 120 days before the date of arrival in India. Once issued, the e Visa is non-extendable, non-convertible, and not valid for visiting protected/restricted and cantonment areas.
Traditional Stamped Visa
For travelers requiring more than one entry into India, a traditional stamped visa is available. This option requires the physical passport and supporting documents to be sent to World Visa Travel for submission to the Indian Embassy for processing. The traditional stamped visa is valid for multiple entries and stays up to 180 days per entry, with a validity of up to 10 years from the date of issue.
Port of Entry
The Indian e Visa is only valid for travelers arriving at 28 international airports and 5 seaports.
Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Madurai, Nagpur, Pune, Portblair, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Vishakhapatnam and Varanasi. The Seaports are Chennai, Cochin, Goa, Mangalore, and Mumbai
