ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- On July 01, 1997, the sovereignty of Hong Kong reverted to the People’s Republic of China
- Under an arrangement referred to as “One Country, Two Systems”, Hong Kong will become a Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of China
- Visa Requirements for visitors to the HKSAR will remain as they were under British sovereignty
- The Hong Kong Immigration Department will continue to process and approve applications from those nationalities that require them
- The only difference is that Chinese rather than British Consulate offices will accept the Visa applications
- Travelers visiting Hong Kong after visting China, and then returning to China, will continue to require a double entry Visa to China
