ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • On July 01, 1997, the sovereignty of Hong Kong reverted to the People’s Republic of China
  • Under an arrangement referred to as “One Country, Two Systems”, Hong Kong will become a Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of China
  • Visa Requirements for visitors to the HKSAR will remain as they were under British sovereignty
  • The Hong Kong Immigration Department will continue to process and approve applications from those nationalities that require them
  • The only difference is that Chinese rather than British Consulate offices will accept the Visa applications
  • Travelers visiting Hong Kong after visting China, and then returning to China, will continue to require a double entry Visa to China
